the mystery booster playtest cards are a wacky bunch. these sets of cards are distributed in, as mentioned, mystery boosters given out at conventions and the like for limited events like draft or sealed. they're meant to have fun nonsensical effects akin to cards from unsets, however, unlike uncards, these are not meant to have any manner of balance or be part of some cohesive draft archetype. they're just meant to be funny and make the event you're playing them at be memorable

there's a lot of really fun playtest cards i like so picking one wasn't particularly easy (i'm lying it so was i just hit random on scryfall couse i had no ideas for today until i got this exact one that i just happened to like a lot) but this one in particular, while it doesn't look like all that? this would absolutely fuck in any storm deck. just off the top of my mind it's a two card combo with storm-kiln artist giving you infinite casts then cast any storm card, simple as. surely there's a bunch of others i can't think of right now

also, semi fun fact: storm isn't registered as a keyword on scryfall for some reason, searching kw:storm returns nothing. odd
